Dean of the European Union on the “anti-democratic nature” of the “Lex Tusk” law

“In my opinion, the signing by the President of the Act of the State Commission for the Study of Russian Influences on the Internal Security of the Republic of Poland in 2007-2022 is a decision with significant and difficult to predict consequences for democracy in Poland” – he assessed.

He explained, “Given the undeniable legal flaws of this act, as well as its anti-democratic nature, I cannot remain negative.”

The dean of UEK has admitted that he made the decision to resign “with great regret”. “But I am firmly convinced that the process of deterioration of the legal system in Poland and the main mechanisms of the modern legal state on solid foundations built on stable state institutions cannot be accepted. In my opinion, this law contradicts this logic,” he added.
