Thursday’s meeting gave volleyball fans a lot of emotions. The match did not start according to the plans of Piao Zerooni, who lost the first set 21:25. In the next set, coach Michal Winarski’s players also performed better. The Germans even had a set piece, but the Poles were able to make up for the loss and after a tight end won at 26:24.
The third group had a completely different picture. The representatives of Poland improved their efficiency in attack and at the beginning of the match got some points, which they did not give up until the end of the set, winning 25:19. In the fourth set, the German team again imposed the conditions, winning 25:17 and thus leading to a draw. The outcome of the opening meeting in the 2023 season was decided by a tiebreaker, in which the Poles had to recognize the superiority of the German team.
