Adviser to the President of Ukraine: We will not give up any land to Russia

Mykhailo Podolak, advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office, said that Ukraine would not give up any land to Russia. “It is raining shells on hospitals,” he said in an interview with the Italian daily Corriere della Sera. “Talking about a compromise now will only lead to more victims in Ukraine.”

In an interview with the newspaper, the adviser to the Ukrainian president noted that “our peace formula envisages, as a first step, the complete removal of Russian armed groups from the territory of Ukraine within the 1991 borders.”
He added, “It is clear that we will not support any option related to territorial concessions. The ‘compromise’ scenarios will not bring peace, but rather the continuation of the war and a significant increase in terrorist pressure on Ukraine.”
And Mykhailo Podolak warned that, “Not only that. We will witness more militarization of Russia and new aggressions against other countries.”
Referring to the peace initiative and the Holy See’s stated mission, he said: “If the Vatican promotes the idea of withdrawing Russian forces from the territory of Ukraine and demands the return of prisoners, Ukrainian civilians and kidnapped children, then we will welcome it.”
“On the other hand, if the Holy See has a different vision, it, unfortunately, will only deepen the crisis and provoke more aggressive measures on the part of Russia,” said the advisor to the president, Zelensky.
